The Bend - Friday Summary

Our return to racing for Round 7 of the Australian Superbike championships (ASBK) at The Bend Motorsport Park has started off really well. While we clearly understand we are not yet at competitive level in this massively talented Motorsports TV Supersport field, we have clear focus on the path to become more competitive over the course of the upcoming session.

Race Center’s Tim Large put in a strong performance on day 1 at the Bend, as too did the entire team. Following our poor performance at Wakefield Park last time out, we went through a detailed review of things that needed to improve and set a plan in place.

Tim has put a lot of work into his training to try resolve the arm pump issues we were having. This included some help from Buzz Kiely and the Know-How Building group who provided an Ovhale for Tim to train on. The team at Race Center has also put a lot of work into the bike ergonomics, Translogic Auto Blippers and a fresh engine build as so far, so good.

Tim did not suffer any arm pump on day 1 despite having a huge test program to run through, it’s still early days so let’s just keep our fingers crossed on that one. That fact that Tim rode so well and the team had such a structured planned means that we gathered a lot of useful data to help us with the rest of the weekend.

We are currently sitting P11 in the standings with our fastest time being a 1.58.729 and feel we are in a good position to find some extra lap time in Saturday’s qualifying session.

It is great to be back racing and a massive thanks to all our supporters and sponsors. A special shout out to Josh, Jake and Mick who have been mega so far in the pit box AND big thanks to Saucey and Jools for keeping the workshop running while we are away.

Wish us luck!! Motorbikes, FY!
